Those things that Matter the Most

Image
Those things that Count the Most Hey!  I’m back with a penny for your thought! At a point in time, we lose sight of things that ought to keep us vibing despite all odds. Rather, we are occupied by ''self' that seeing beyond our nose becomes one of the most daunting tasks ever. What is life without the love of family, company, and the little sacrifices we make? Today, it is obvious that due to events we seem to hold so dear to our hearts, those things which make life worth living are neglected with reckless abandon.  Life is so vast that at times we are caught in-between its web of confusion and  anomaly . Although our elementary quarters narrow down the essential elements for survival to  food, wate r, and  shelter ; these seem to make life and our direction while living through the journey more meaningful and patterned. Patterned in the sense that man is disposed to believing that his main goal on earth is simply to pursue the important amenities in the l...

The Ninth Month: Let’s go back to the Drawing Board.

The Ninth Month: Let’s go back to the Drawing Board. Hey there! Howdy! Welcome back probably from a long, enjoyable, extremely busy, demanding, and interesting month in 2020 . Welcome to the first ember month of the year! Yeah! Do you know what? I am pretty excited as you are because we started this year like any other, making plans and all that, and boom! The pandemic swept us off our feet in split seconds, and while we at it, the tension in different parts of the country with inflation, increase in unemployment, crime, strike, and domestic violence trended. Many came face to face with poverty, hunger, and starvation, or even death. It didn’t just stop with these but man’s social, religious, and even fundamental human rights were threatened; with the forced closure of institutions, recreational spaces, religious arenas, and enforcement of curfews. In fact, one could as well say that all hell was let loose on mankind. A couple of months before this, nobody ever envisioned th...

Almost a Bride: A New Beginning.... Part 3

Her Healing Process... How do you feel about love? Love is a beautiful thing like many say but then when a beautiful love suddenly goes sour I don't know what to call it. Being in love can be the most beautiful, important, and dedicated thing you see yourself doing especially for people like us who love our whole heart, mind, body & soul. I loved these two men greatly. Unfortunately, I found myself using the word love for two men on different occasions, something I dreaded! Well, life happens I guess! Desmond was my first love, yes but then he wasn't the one! Bobby came thereafter and also melted my heart but still wasn't the one! Their walk-out of my life in a space of 6months was the most devastating part of my life. It was more than a huge blow in the groin. I was angrier at Bobby because I thought he knew me better, I thought he understood me better, I thought he loved me more, I thought he knew how delicate I was after Desmond’s misbehavior and obvious breakup,...

Almost a Bride: 101 My True Survival Story Part 2.

Almost a Bride: My True Survival Story... We really appreciate your time so far with us. This wouldn't have been possible without your openness. So, how did Bobby find himself in the picture? I vividly recall that you mentioned him in the first part? That was immediately after school, I was posted to Nasarawa for my NYSC. Fortunately, I got a rewarding offer with Access bank. Anyway, a cousin of mine introduced us. At first, I didn’t like the idea, but I felt it wouldn’t hurt anybody if we became friends. Interestingly, he was such a good talker, sweet-tongued, and disciplined. Obviously, the guy was more romantic than Desmond; I think that was the beginning of all my troubles because I was already getting distracted. So, was there stuff that didn’t match your criteria with this very new guy? Absolutely, what he lacked in physic, he made up in character. Apparently, two main things were a turn off: he was a chain smoker, and a heavy drinker: I knew the implication. Truth be tol...

Almost a Bride: 101 My True Survival Story Part 1

Almost a Bride: My True Survival Story Forever after is one thing most young people look forward to, but at times, the path could be steep, slippery, or spooky. Having heard but not met a woman or a man who was seemingly a victim of a ghost or almost wedded could be unimaginable, but meeting one, in reality, is everything. At a restaurant with friends, my eyes fell on this stunning young lady and her three-year-old son. Holla! That was not what caught my attention, but the way she laughed with a friend as she narrated an ordeal that brought shudders down my spine. Lol! My antennas are always active. Yeah! In fact, I was itching to drain some spicy gist out of her lungs. It only takes a bold step to get what you want, and I needed some juicy gist! Immediately, I got up from my table and went straight for the kill, and when she agreed, my recorder got spinning, and here is her unforgettable tale.... It's good to have you here on Boldpetalz blog. How do you feel? I feel like a m...
